Israeli air strikes leave 50 more Palestinians killed in Gaza

GAZA CITY: At least 50 more Palestinians were killed in fresh Israeli air strikes just two hours after 72-hours ceasefire came into effect in the Gaza strip on Friday.

The Palestinian sources said that the killings took place when Israeli forces shelled the southern town of Rafah.

The ceasefire was brokered by the United Nations and the United States to give the Palestinians reprieve from violence.

Both Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas have accused each other of breaking the ceasefire.

On the other hand, Hamas has captured an Israeli soldier and killed two others during a clash in Rafah.

The Israeli army confirmed that its 23-year-old second lieutenant Hadar Goldin was captured by Hamas.
