MUZAFFARGARH: Successful independent candidate from Muzaffargarh, Jamshed Dasti, declined the offer to join Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N); however, he decided to give his vote to the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif for the role of prime minister.
Jamshed Dasti, who won two seats from NA-178 (Muzaffargarh-III) and NA-177 (Muzaffargarh-II) constituencies in May 11 polls as an independent candidate after quitting the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), will proceed to the National Assembly as an independent candidate.
It is likely that he will keep the NA-178 seat and his brother Javed Dasti may retain the NA-177 seat as an independent candidate.
In an attempt to rope support, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also invited Jamshed Dasti to join his party.
