RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs Sonoura Kentaro called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at Pakistan army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that during the meeting, matters of mutual interest including the overall regional security situation were discussed.
The ISPR said that the visiting dignitary appreciated and acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role in the region.
Both reiterated the desire to further enhance Pakistan-Japan bilateral relations including efforts for peace and security in the region.

Earlier in the day, the Japanese Special Advisor Sonoura Kentaro met the Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood in Islamabad, and exchanged wide-ranging on Pakistan-Japan relations and ways to further strengthen their growing partnership in diverse fields.
