ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal government will call a Joint Session of the Parliament for comprehensive legislation on election reforms, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said.
Talking to media persons along with the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Farrukh Habib after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentary Party meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that the government has been trying to hold talks with opposition parties on election reforms and legislation in this regard for the last one year.
Referring to the cases against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahbaz Sharif, the minister said that two cases of more than Rs 33 billion are under trial in Pakistan against the leader of the opposition.

The minister appealed the judiciary to hold proceedings in the cases against Shahbaz Sharif on daily basis to bring them to a logical conclusion at the earliest.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that PML-N operated money laundering networks from Al Arabia and Ramazan sugar mills in 57 bank accounts in the names of mills workers.
The information minister advised Nawaz Sharif and other absconders of PML-N to come back to Pakistan and face their cases.
