ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Judicial Commission formed to probe alleged 2013 election rigging has sent its report to the Prime Minister House while the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have claimed that the commission has rejected all allegations of systematic and organized rigging in the polls levelled by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
A three-member Judicial Commission led by the Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal sent its report on Wednesday night after it held 39 sittings and completed the hearing on July 3 regarding the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called his legal team for briefing on the report on Thursday afternoon.
In a statement, the spokesman of Prime Minister House said that the team will brief the prime minister on the report and subsequently the report will be uploaded on the website of the Ministry of Law.
In a message on the social website Twitter, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal claimed that the Judicial Commission has cleared general elections held in May 2013 and rejected PTI allegations on all three charges.

“In (the) name of rigging drama, ‘dharna’ havoc was played with the economy. In true democratic spirit, IK (Imran Khan) should accept responsibility for misleading the nation and youth. That is his personal choice. We need to, however, now move forward with greater determination to build economy for making up for the dharna year,” Iqbal said.
Meanwhile, the PTI spokesman has said that the party Chairman Imran Khan will stay flood-hit Chitral today, and will give version on Judicial Commission report as soon as the report is made public.
The sources said that soon after Imran Khan was informed about the Judicial Commission report, he contacted Ishaq Khakwani, who headed the PTI’s special task force for the commission, and discussed the issue in detail.
Ishaq Khakwani told media that the PTI would give its official reaction after reading the report.
“The PTI will come out with a detailed reaction after seeing what the judges have written in the report in response to the three questions that had been put before them,” he said.
The Judicial Commission was formed after President Mamnoon Hussain on April 3 issued an ordinance for setting up a judicial commission on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif following an agreement between the PML-N and the PTI for a judicial commission that will investigate allegations of rigging in 2013 general elections.
