ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Irrespective of the sit-in by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F)-led Joint Opposition, the Federal Capital remains peaceful and the life has returned to normalcy with the opening of almost all of its routes except a section of Kashmir Highway.

Though containers haven’t yet been removed and remain placed at Faizabad Interchange, Islamabad Expressway, Faisal Avenue and IJP Road etc; however, they have now been moved off the roads, allowing the motorists to travel freely.
Yet uncertainty still prevails in the backdrop of the two-day deadline given by the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign.
In his fiery address at the huge mass gathering in H-9 on Friday evening, Maulana Fazlur Rehman warned Imran Khan that they don’t guarantee the non-occurrence of any untoward situation if he doesn’t tender his resignation.

On the other hand, the government has categorically ruled out the resignation by Prime Minister Imran Khan, and urged JUI-F to avoid breaking agreement, it had reached with the Islamabad administration prior to the rally, and law of the Country.
Talking to media, the Head of government’s negotiating team Pervez Khattak said that the members of the Opposition’s Rahbar Committee had made agreement and it should honour that commitment.
Pervez Khattak warned that action would be taken as per the law of the Country against those found involved in violating the laws.
Khattak also said that a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee will be held today (Saturday) to discuss prevailing political situation of the Country.
