ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) will not let the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to run away from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to gloss over its poor governance, the JUI-F spokesman Jan Achakzai said on Monday.
The statement comes shortly after the PTI decided to resign from the National Assembly and three provincial assemblies. However, the party has not yet taken any decision regarding resignations from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
The JUI-F spokesman said that his party is still waiting for the PTI to submit resignations to the speaker and there are serious differences among the party. Once it has proved that it is not bluffing or there is no U turn then the party will adopt constitutional way, he added.
“Its means the party will contest election if seats fell vacant”, Achakzai said.
Achakzai said that the PTI wants to use resignation drive as a tactic to hide its failure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as it failed to build a “Naya Pakistan”.
The JUI-F spokesman said that the PTI’s resignation threat is meant to pressure the government but any demand of the PTI granted outside the Parliament will encourage other groups in future to come to Islamabad on the streets and get the constitution amended so it will only negate the very essence of constitutionalism and democratic norms and procedures in the country.
Jan Achakzai said that the JUI-F will stand with the constitution saying that now the nation has to decide are they supporting constitution or anti-constitutional elements.
“It is not a battle between Nawaz Sharif versus Imran Khan, it is a battle between constitution and organized mobs so it is your (nation) call,” the JUI-F spokesman added.
