WAH CANTT, Pakistan: Minister for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan Saturday said the law and order situation in Karachi had improved a lot due to the on-going operation which would be further expedited.
The operation to flush out criminals from different areas of the city had already been sped up, he said while talking to media here at the Wah General Hospital. He visited the hospital to review the construction work.
The minister said the Karachi operation was launched by the government on the desire of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and after taking all the political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), on board in August 2013.
The government, he said, was still ready to address the reservations of the PPP and MQM regarding the operation. The law and order in Karachi as well as Quetta had improved a lot since the targeted action launched in 2013, he added.
Responding to a question about Dr Asim Hussain case, he said Rangers and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) were holding investigations in that regard and action would be taken as per law.
The Interior Ministry had the Rangers’ investigation report and now the NAB had launched probe into the matter, he added.
