KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that the Karachi operation would continue till total elimination of the crime and would not be stopped at any cost.

In his address to members of the Parsi community in Karachi on Thursday, he said that a massive operation is going to be launched against militias operating in the country.

The prime minister also said the government wants the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to return to assemblies.

“No one wants MQM legislators to resign from the assemblies,” Sharif said.

Meanwhile addressing a press conference at the MQM headquarters nine zero, the MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that his party was disappointed by the prime minister’s visit to Karachi.

The MQM leader said that the prime minister left the city without answering their questions.

Farooq Sattar said that the prime minister says that Rangers-led operation in Karachi is not against any particular political party but last night the paramilitary force personnel arrested nine MQM workers from Korangi, Shah Faisal and Mehmood Abad areas.

Moreover, Sattar reiterated the MQM’s earlier claim that their workers are being detained illegally under the garb of the Karachi operation.
