KARACHI: Karachi traders on Tuesday announced to observe strike till indefinite period, holding Sindh Government responsible for the law and order situation in the city.
According to reports, the traders staged a protest demonstration against extortion and target killings outside the Karachi Press Club.
Rasheed Godail, Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader (MQM), also participated in the protest.
Godail demanded of the government to bring Karachi under control of the army in a bid to save “economic engine” of the country.
The MQM leader said that if the army could be called out for rehabilitation of flood affectees and holding of elections in the country then why not for the purpose to maintain peace in the metropolis.
