ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Kashmiris and Pakistanis all over the world will observe Black Day tomorrow (October 27) to condemn illegal landing of Indian occupying forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

It was on this day in 1947 that Indian forces invaded Kashmir in violation of the partition plan of the subcontinent.

Kashmiris observe Black Day every year to renew their pledge that they will continue their unprecedented peaceful struggle for their right to self-determination. The Day will be observed with the zest and zeal.

Pakistanis also observe Black Day to reiterate their support to Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right of self-determination accepted by the United Nations resolutions.

Kashmiris living on both the sides of the Line of Control (LoC) have chalked out special programs and protest rallies to condemn Indian atrocities against the innocent people in the occupied Kashmir.

Pakistanis and Kashmiris living abroad have also planned to hold several functions in various countries to draw the world attention towards the plight of Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir.

Demonstrations and protest rallies have been planned in different parts of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and Pakistan on Black Day.

During the rallies and demonstrations slogans will be chanted like ‘Save Kashmir save humanity’, ‘Salute to Kashmiri martyrs’, ‘UN must provide justice to Kashmiris’ and ‘Kashmir dispute needs international attention’.

The attention of the world community will be drawn towards the long-standing Kashmir dispute for its durable solution and stopping the atrocities of Indian forces against innocent Kashmiri people.

People through demonstrations will urge the United Nations and international community to take steps for the implementation of the UN Security Council’s resolutions on Kashmir.

In occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown will be observed on October 27.

The call for strike has been given by veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
