QUETTA, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said the socio-economic development of the people of Balochistan was a priority of the federal government.
The prime minister was chairing a meeting on the development projects of Balochistan at the Governor House in Quetta.
During the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary (Development) presented a detailed briefing on the development projects including China Pakistan Economic Corridor, tube wells solarization, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), water management projects and oil and gas exploration projects.
The Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, the Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, the Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), National Security Advisor, the Commander Southern Command, the Home Minister, the Planning and Development Minister, the Chief Secretary Balochistan, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the prime minister also presided over a meeting on law and order situation of Balochistan during which he said sacrifices rendered by all law enforcement agencies’ personnel were unmatchable for bringing peace in Balochistan.
The prime minister reiterated the federal government would provide full support to the Balochistan government for improving the law and order situation.
