ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for not fulfilling its promises, it had made to the public.

In his address in the House during the special budget 2015-16 session on Tuesday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader said that the federal government could not end lead shedding in the country despite promises. He said that instead of decrease, the load shedding has increased.

Shah said that the government could not provide uninterrupted supply electricity to industries according to its commitment that is why the industrial growth has decreased.

The opposition leader also criticized the privatization policy of the government, saying that the government cheaply sold Heavy Electrical Complex and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) shares.

The PPP leader said that the government has revised its revenue target for three times which is still not likely to be achieved. He also criticized imposing of tax on poultry feed and giving exemption on spare parts of aeroplanes and big vehicles.

Syed Khursheed Shah moreover disparaged meagre increase in the salary of government employees. He urged the government to at least increase the salary of government employees by 25 percent.

In addition, the opposition leader also criticized the government for giving subsidy on the Metro Bus Project.
