KARACHI: The opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah has warned the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) against targeting the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and playing politics of revenge.
His statement came a day after an anti-corruption court in Karachi issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and the PPP senior leader Makhdoom Amin Faheem in a case relating to financial irregularities in the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Talking to media representatives in Sukkur on Friday, the PPP senior leader said that if the government continues on this path, the opposition will have to seriously reconsider its stance in supporting the democratic set-up existing in its current form.
The opposition leader said that the PPP is trying to save the democratic process but it appears that the PML-N is adamant on engaging in the politics of revenge.
