RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that the security forces have occupied passes and are now consolidating their positions up in high mountains in Rajgal Valley of Khyber agency.

In a statement issued on Monday, the ISPR said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered during the search operation in Damo Drub today.

It may be mentioned that since the start of Khyber-III operation along the Pak-Aghan border, a total of 40 terrorists have been killed and 21 injured.

Moreover, 43 terrorists’ hideouts were also destroyed in treacherous terrain of Rajgal through ground and aerial operations since the start of the operation.

The Khyber-III operation was launched on August 16 to reinforce troops deployment in Rajgal Valley to effectively check and guard against terrorists movement along high mountains and all weather passes in Khyber agency.

Last Friday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited the Rajgal Valley and received a briefing on progress of operations and gains consolidated so far.

The COAS showed satisfaction over progress of the operation, and directed enhanced vigilance and pro-active approach to stop any type of movement of terrorists.
