PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated Rs 1 billion for the uplift of education sector besides bringing improvement in the standard of public sector schools and provision of better facilities to students.

The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Mohibullah Khan and Central Deputy Secretary General Murad PTI Saeed MNA said this while inaugurating the newly constructed building of Government Higher Secondary School Swat.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohibullah Khan said provision of quality education to students was imperative for sustainable progress and development as without education no nation can make progress and achieve economic prosperity.

He said KPK government accorded high priority to education and was spending Rs one billion on uplift of education sector in the province.

MNA Murad Saeed said the KPK government has fulfilled shortage of teachers in government schools through transparent National Testing Service (NTS) system. He said Rs 110 million have been distributed among teachers, who showed excellent performance that was a great achievement of the provincial government. He said these incentives would encourage teachers and will create spirit of competition.

The Executive District Education Officer Swat and elders of the area besides PTI leaders were present on the occasion. The school was constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 13 million. An examination hall is also being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 7.6million.
