PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan Wednesday approved 1609.455 million rupees for various developmental and uplift projects in tribal areas.
He was chairing the first meeting of FATA Development Council at Governor House, which was attended by Additional Secretary SAFRON, Tariq Hayat, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Secretary Law and Order FATA, Additional Secretary Development FATA, Yousaf Rahim and Chief Economist, Shah Mehmood.
The Governor, on the occasion, approved Rs.661.961 million for infrastructure related projects including construction of Barra-Tirah Road, rehabilitation of Zakakhel Bazar Road and expansion of Dawatoa-Sheen Qamar Road.
KPK Governor also approved Rs.361.191 million for the provision of basic amenities and construction of Municipal Committee in Bara Bazar. Rs.369.671 million were approved as an additional grant for Wana Cadet College besides allocation of of Rs.216.632 million for the training of Levies Force and construction of Sports Stadium in Jani Khel area of FR Bannu.
Chairing the meeting, Governor said that scarcity of resources would not hamper the process of development in tribal area and the displaced people would be repatriated to the towns in a respectable way.
He said that time has come that tribal people who left their homes for the country should be facilitated and result oriented steps should be taken for development of their lands. He said that government has focused energies for the repatriation of tribal people to their native areas.
KPK Governor said that no compromise would be made on quality of development projects adding aspirations of tribesmen would be kept in mind while executing these public welfare schemes.
