ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Orange Line Metro Train project has been started through tendering which is the first time in history and will going to benefit the masses.
Talking to PTV News, CM Sharif said that it was the unanimous decision of Pakistan and China adding he told the estimated cost of the project was about $147mn or Rs 160 billion.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project will revolutionize the transport sector.
“This project has special significance for the people of the Punjab as well as for the rest of the country. It will be a masterpiece. It is government to government funding for the project of Orange Line Train in Lahore”, he added.
While, taking part in the programme, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Khawaja Hassan said Chief Minister has dispelled reports on the demolition of Lahore’s famous historical monument Chauburji.
“Many believed the heritage site would be affected to make the way for Orange Line Metro which is not true. With the Orange Line Train Project the people of backward and deprived areas will get benefit from the project,” he said.
“Best compensation than market rate will be given to the owners of properties without any delay on production of ownership deeds. Besides price of property, compensation of constructed structure, migration allowance and amount of loss of business will be paid to the affected people,” he said.
