ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The lawmakers in the National Assembly have strongly condemned the blasphemous remarks by some members of India’s ruling party BJP against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In the House, an hour-long discussion was held on Monday on the issue on the request of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
The lawmakers urged the government to raise the matter on all international forums including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor said that Islamic scholars from across the world will be invited to address the annual Rahmatul-lil-Aalamin Conference to give a strong message to the world that Muslims cannot tolerate any blasphemous acts or remarks against their Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Meanwhile, in a statement, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that India has unleashed its brute and oppressive state apparatus to browbeat Indian Muslims into submission.
The prime minister said that the whole plan is to further marginalize Muslims politically, economically, and culturally.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the reality of India’s “democratic face” is before the world to see.
