ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that it would be good if no Parliamentarian was left as if “Sadiq and Ameen” qualification was applied then at least we would be able to save Pakistan.
His remarks came in response to an observation made by the Supreme Court during today’s hearing of Panamagate Case that if qualification of “Sadiq and Ameen” was strictly applied then there might be no one left in the Parliament.
Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, the PTI Chief said that if those entrusted to protect the interest of Pakistan were not trustworthy, then what was the point of having them in the Parliament.
“Let the parliamentarians go, even if that includes Imran Khan,” the PTI Chief said. “At least we will save Pakistan in the process.”
Imran Khan said that moral standards for the prime minister were much higher than the standards that were out for the ordinary people.
The PTI Chief further said that the Country was drowning in debt; how was the progress of Pakistan going to be viable when we had no system of collecting taxes and people had no faith in the integrity of the prime minister to trust him with their tax money.
“Why is it that in democracies worldwide prime ministers and leaders are made to resign if they lie to the public? Lying to the public as the prime minister in no small crime,” Imran Khan said.
Imran reiterated said that their struggle was not for him to become prime minister rather their struggle was to make Pakistan a viable state.
