ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The local bodies elections in Islamabad will be held on December 24, 2022, as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday.

As per the schedule, the contesting candidates will file their nomination papers with the Returning Officers (ROs) from November 07 to 11, and their names will be published on November 14.

The last date for scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer has been set from November 15 to 18 while the last date for filing of appeals against the decision of the ROs is from November 21 to 23.

The Appellate Authority will make the decision on appeals on November 28 and in the following day, the revised list of candidates will be published.

Similarly, November 30 has been set as the last date for withdrawal of candidates and publication of revised list of candidates.

The symbols to contesting candidates will be allotted on December 1 whereas the polling will be held on December 24.
