Under new local bodies system public will be given relief, says CM Punjab
LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the local government system in Punjab has to be strengthened and activated.
In a statement in Lahore on Tuesday, Usman Buzdar said that authority and power to be transferred to the lower level in its true sense.
The Chief Minister said that under the new local bodies system public will be given relief. In he said that in New Pakistan there is no space for the old local bodies system. He said that in the past, Local bodies system didn’t have any authority.
Usman Buzdar said that our government will give authority to the local bodies representatives and will keep check and balance.

Local government system in Punjab reaches close to finalization
Earlier last Sunday, while presiding over a meeting on local bodies system in Lahore, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the local bodies system will be finalized within 48 hours, adding that real change will take place when people are empowered by devolving powers at the grassroots level.
The prime minister said that devolution of powers at the grassroots level aimed at empowering people in the real sense is the most important agenda of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
