Monitoring Desk: In India, a 15-year-old daughter had to transport her injured father from Delhi to Darbhanga, Bihar on a bicycle due to lockdown of transport. She covered 1,200 km distance in six days.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that over 2,000 daily wages workers lost their lives while walking to reach their far-flung homes from big cities after complete lockdown of transport in India in the third week of March 2020.

According to a report of India Today, the duo started their journey on May 10 from Delhi after they purchased a bicycle. The development came as the country is under the fourth lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Jyoti Kumari’s is a class VII student and she started cycling, with her injured father on May 10 from Delhi. On May 16, she reached her destination in Bihar. She said that villagers on her way provided them food and night stays. She maintained that they were screened and quarantined at Government Middle School, Sirhulli.
