Monitoring Desk: With good recovery indicators and Ukraine is coming out of previous serve wave of infection while the Ministry of Health wants to double the number of tests for coronavirus by autumn.

During the entire epidemic, most cases of infection were detected in the Lviv region (8,115), in Kyiv (6,961) and the Chernivtsi region (5,332).

According to data reported by Ukrainian News Agency, on July 19, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in Ukraine increased by 651 to 59,493, the number of deaths from the disease – by 13 people to 1,498 compared with the previous days, while the number of new cases decreased by 10.9%, the number new deaths – increased by 62.5%.

Citing National Security and Defense Council, Ukrainian News Agency reports that as of the morning of July 20, 59,493 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were registered in Ukraine, of which 1,498 were fatal, 31,439 patients recovered.

During the day, 651 new cases were recorded, 560 people recovered, 13 people died.

Thus, on July 19, the rate of new cases of sick people per day again became greater than those who recovered – 651 against 560.

The number of new cases on July 19 was 1.1% of the total number of cases on July 18.

The number of active patients (sick without taking into account those who recovered and died) on the morning of July 20 was 26,556 people, which is 0.29% more than in the previous day.

In the Rivne region, 5 144 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded, in the Transcarpathian region – 4 440 cases, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region – 3536, in the Kiev region – 3 308, in the Volyn region – 3 281, in the Kharkiv region – 3 033, in the Odessa region – 2 573, in Ternopil – 2,456, in Vinnitsa – 2,317, in Zhytomyr – 1,602, in Dnepropetrovsk – 1,209 cases.

980 cases were identified in the Khmelnitsky region, 845 cases in Cherkasy, 794 cases in Donetsk, 682 cases in Kirovograd, 678 cases in Zaporizhia, 642 cases in Chernihiv, 522 cases in Nikolaev, 371 cases in Sumy, 353 cases – in Poltava, 213 cases – in Kherson and 106 cases – in Lugansk regions.
