RAWALPINDI: Lt-Gen Qamar Bajwa has been made Corp Commander, Rawapindi while Maj-Gen Amir Riaz has been appointed as Director General Military Operation on Monday.
The corps commander will take charge of his office on August 14.
According to the ISPR, Lt-Gen Khalid Nawaz, corp commander, Rawalpindi will retire on Tuesday. He will be replaced with Lt-Gen Qamar Bajwa.
The new corps commander will assume the charge of his office on the Independence Day.
According to military sources, Maj-Gen Amir Riaz has been appointment as Director General of Military Operation.
The seat fell vacant after Major-General Ashfaq was given promotion.
