LAHORE, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday said that the intelligence agencies in Lahore successfully foiled a major terrorist attack planned for Easter, a Christian Festival.

In a statement, the ISPR said that the security forces conducted a special Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) near Punjab Housing Society Lahore.

The ISPR said that during the IBO, one terrorist was killed while one lady was arrested by the security forces.

However, four soldiers including two officers also got injured during the operation, the ISPR said.

On Easter to be observed on Sunday, the Christian Community around the world including in Pakistan celebrates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The federal government has already announced a public holiday for Christians on April 17.

Separately as part of the Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan conducted an IBO in Loralai area and recovered a large number of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) which were dumped for terrorist activities.

The ISPR said that the raid was conducted on the information gathered through intelligence.
