LONDON: Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager shot in the head by Taliban gunmen while advocating girls’ education in October last year, has been honoured with the Freedom of Expression Award in the United Kingdom, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Friday.
Malala’s father‚ Ziauddin Yousafzai‚ received the award, given by an organization known as Index, on his daughter’s behalf at a ceremony held in London.
“As a father I gave Malala freedom of expression, freedom of expression is a solution to every problem and it is the most import right,” he was quoted as saying on the occasion.
