PESHAWAR: A sub-inspector was killed while  six other people were injured in a suicide blast that hit northwestern Pakistan’s Mardan town on Saturday.
The blast occurred in the city’s Katlang bazaar, while DIG Mardan Jaffar Khan confirmed it was a suicide attack.
The sources said the bomber had initially lobbed a hand grenade at police personnel standing outside a police station in the area. Upon being chased by the personnel, the bomber blew himself up, they added.
Moreover, the bomber had an accomplice who managed to flee and the police had started a search for him.
The injured persons were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
