QUETTA, Pakistan: The Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has declared three days of mourning in the province in the wake of Mastung tragedy and also announced to convene an all parties conference to discuss the security situation in Balochistan.

On Friday night, unknown gunmen abducted passengers of two Karachi-bound buses in Mastung and killed 22 of them in Khad Kocha area of Balochistan’s Mastung district.

“We share the grief of the bereaved families, the Balochistan Chief Minister said in a joint press conference held in Quetta on Saturday along with the opposition Leader in the Balochistan Assembly Maulana Abdul Wasay.

The Balochistan Chief Minister appreciated the political parties for playing a positive role in the wake of the incident.

The chief minister also said that he has spoken to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with regards to convening an all parties conference. He said that conference will be convened in the next couple of days.

In his remarks, the opposition leader said that Mastung tragedy is a conspiracy against Pakistan.

“Our enemy country is trying to spread anarchy in the province,” he said adding that everybody will have to play a role for peace and stability in Balochistan.

Following the Mastung tragedy, family members and relatives of those killed in the Mastung massacre held sit-ins along with the dead bodies outside the CM Secretariat and the Governor House in Quetta. However, later they ended their protests after successful negotiations with the government officials.

FC kills two miscreants

Meanwhile, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan killed two miscreants during the operation carried out in mountains near Khad Kocha area after the massacre of passengers.

Talking to media, a spokesman for FC Balochistan said that 200 personnel took part in the operation. He said that weapons were also recovered from the killed miscreants.
