ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said that all television channels should promote the teachings of holy Quran during the holy month of Ramazan.
In his address at a ceremony ‘Roze-e-Roshan Ramazan Special’, as chief guest in Islamabad, he said that he will write to Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to direct all television channels to promote such programmes during the holy month where emphasis is paid on the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z) President Ijazul Haq was the guest of honour.
The Universal Interfaith Peace Mission (Gold Medalist) Chairman Dr Allama Abul Fateh GR Chishti in his address made it clear that the message in the Holy Quran is for all and is not against any specific religion, tribe or a nation.
Dr Chishti said that the Holy Quran is like a vast ocean with no bounds in its meaning, explanations and interpretations and in no way a person can summarize this vast ocean of knowledge. “However, it could be remembered that a person should get content with a small portion of a thing, if he is unable to get the whole thing. Therefore, in current era when the entire world is entangled in different problems, there is need to seek help from the holy Quran to better understand the problems of prevailing time like interfaith harmony, interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
Dr Chishti said that this is an attempt to clear the doubts created deliberately and non-deliberately about the Holy Quran. Alleviating all the misperceptions will help the entire humanity to live peacefully with love, brotherhood and mutual coexistence.
The Universal Interfaith Peace Mission Chairman said that these misperceptions are endangering the world peace and it seems nobody cares about allaying them.
“Because if everyone starts saying that the teachings of his religion are right and rest are wrong then it will not help in allaying the misperceptions and reach an understanding for betterment of humanity. Religious Understanding could only be possible, if the religious scholars should say that although they will follow their religious truth but they will respect the religious truth of others,” he added.
In this book, Dr Chishti has made an attempt to clear out the situation the last Holy book, Holy Quran, which is message for entire humanity, does not carry any kind of message of enmity against any other religion, tribe or nation and is not a supporter of fascism or terrorism. “Therefore, I have tried to keep this thing is mind will try to take such verses of the Holy Quran which do not contradict with other verses in their explanations. He said that as verse of Surah Al-Mumtahanah (60/8) is clear in its meaning: “Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly. Whereas Muslims have been advised to remain alert from those non-Muslims with whom they are at war with.” This verse is a clear explanation and interpretation of allaying misperceptions as why Muslims were allowed to form relations with non-Muslims as well as they were advised to keep a distance from them. Therefore, despite all religious differences, an environment of mutual co-existence, fraternity could be created for the well-being of humanity.
Therefore to portray this message, in his programme ‘Roz-e-Roshan Ramazan Special’ in which Dr GR Chishti on the topic of ‘Khulas-tul-Quran (Alasri)’ from first Ramazan till the end of Ramazan will try to explain the translation of daily recited passages of holy Quran during Taraweeh during Sehr and Iftar.
