ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 25.6-kilometer Metro Bus Project from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad International Airport is expected to be completed by mid of August 2020, the National Assembly was told.
In a written reply to a question by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Sheikh Rohale Asghar, the Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed told the House on Friday that the said Metro Bus Project is near to the substantial completion.
Murad Saeed told that the total revised cost of the project is Rs 13,525 million.
The minister apprised the House said that the physical progress of the project is 95 percent and the financial progress is 63 percent.
The House was told that the import of equipment, construction of a mini station at the New Islamabad International Airport, and the ancillary works like paint, fixing of windows, etc at some other stations are in progress.
Murad Saeed said that it is expected that the project will be completed by mid of August 2020 on the arrival of E&M equipment (elevators and escalators) from China and Spain.
The Communications Minister told that the import was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
