DHAKA, Bangladesh: The High Commission for Pakistan in Dhaka organized an event to mark Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)) on Friday evening.

The theme of the event was “Environmental Pollution and Our Responsibilities in the light of Life of the Holy Prophets (PBUH).”

The event was attended by over 100 guests from all walks of life.

Speakers on the occasion highlighted various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as well as his teaching regarding human responsibilities towards maintaining environmental balance.

They were of the view that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) specifically urged his followers to contemplate the relationship between the living organisms and their environment and maintain ecological balance. The Prophet (SAW) encouraged the planting of trees and described the planting of trees and cultivation as good deeds.

In his remarks, the High Commissioner for Pakistan Imran Ahmed Siddiqui congratulated the audience on Milad-un-Nabi and said that the Prophet (SAW) was the greatest blessing of Allah for humanity. The message of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encompassed all aspects of human existence.

“Our respect and affection for the Prophet (SAW) demand that we follow his teaching faithfully including his various injunctions regarding measures helpful in reversing environmental degradation,” the High Commissioner said.

The High Commissioner further said that the world can achieve sustainable peace and security by acting upon the golden Islamic principles of equity, equality, and tolerance.

“As Muslims, it is our responsibility to live by these principles and promote them in our respective circles too,” he emphasized.

On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition of Arabic/Quranic Calligraphy was also arranged by the High Commission which, inter alia, contained art pieces by the Chief Calligrapher of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina Munawwarah.
