PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A leader of a local anti-Taliban militia was killed along with three of his family members when militants from Afghanistan stormed his house in Tenai Dara village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir district late Friday, the officials said on Saturday.
“Taliban militants from Afghanistan stormed the house of Nazmeen Khan, chief of a local anti-Taliban militia, in the late hours of Friday night and killed him along with his two sons and a nephew,” local police official Gul Fazil Khan told a foreign news agency.
The police official said that two other family members including a woman were also injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, the senior police official Javaid Aziz confirmed the incident and said that two militants were killed in a retaliatory attack by the army.
