PESHAWAR: Unknown militants attacked a convoy of trucks carrying supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan with heavy machine guns and rifles as well as fired two rockets on them on the Pak-Afghan Highway in Jamrud Tehsil of Khyber Agency on Monday that left at least two persons injured and also caused minor damage to some nearby vehicles.
The convoy was targeted near the Sur Qamar area about 10 kilometres from the Bab-i-Khyber on the main Peshawar-Jalalabad Highway, the line officer Amjad Khan told media.
The officials said that the attackers fled after the security forces retaliated.
