ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for defense production Rana Tanveer said on Wednesday that no military operation was being carried out in the restive North Waziristan tribal region, rather it was a retaliatory action conducted against the militants.
Talking to the media persons in Wah Cantt on Wednesday‚ the minister said that the security forces retaliated terrorists’ attack and conducted retaliatory action in North Waziristan, killing many several militants including some key leaders.
The minister said that political and military leadership had unanimity of views with regard to the strategy on Taliban.
Tanveer said that the decision whether talks or the operation against the Taliban would be taken in next few days. Moreover, he said that some groups were contacted for the dialogue process.
