ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Cellular Services have partially been suspended on Thursday in the Federal Capital wherein the armed forces are engaged in rehearsal activities in connection with the Pakistan Day Parade slated on March 23.

The mobile services have been shut down within a 10-kilometer radius of the parade venue, Parade Ground near Faizabad Interchange in Islamabad.

The Pakisan Day Parade will be held to mark the ’79th Pakistan Day’, in which Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Frontier Corps, Northern Light Infantry, Mujahid Force and other Services will participate.

Various contingents from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, King of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Sri Lanka and Turkey will also take part in the parade.

Besides President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, three Services Chiefs and foreign diplomats, the Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, the Defence Minister of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Bahrain’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and government officials from Oman will also grace the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23.

Meanwhile, a comprehensive traffic plan has already been chalked out by the Islamabad Traffic Police, and being implemented since March 17.
