ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Accountability Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar has said that more than 10,000 properties possessed by Pakistanis only in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and United Kingdom (UK) have been identified (Properties of Pakistanis in UAE and UK).
In a Press Conference along with the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry in Islamabad on Friday, Shahzad Akbar said that we have got details of those Pakistanis having assets abroad.
The assistant said that a list of 300 people possessing foreign properties has been prepared. He said that a task force has been set up to prevent money laundering, adding that it members have also been finalized to bring looted money back.
More than 10,000 properties of Pakistanis in UAE and UK identified
Shahzad Akbar said that mostly Pakistanis have bought properties in Foreign Countries in the name of their relatives and employees.
The prime minister’s special assistant said that the Swish government has agreed to cooperate with Pakistan while the cooperation will soon be sought from the German government as well.
Furthermore, he said that the draft of mutual legal assistance has been prepared, and it will be presented in the Federal Cabinet meeting soon. He added that the preparation of the whistleblower act is in final stage, and it will also be presented in the next Cabinet meeting.
The Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that the process of across the board accountability has been started. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has clearly advised to protect the house of a poor.
Fawad Chaudhry said that notices have been issued to Nawaz Sharif and his sons for using government helicopter. He said that a notice has also been issued to Shahbaz Sharif for using an aeroplane.
The minister said that the operation against land mafia has also started in a full swing. He said that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) got a benefit of 35,000 kanals.
