KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday announced to observe a day of mourning tomorrow (Friday) against what it calls extra judicial killings and kidnappings of its activists.
The MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Karachi on Thursday. The announcement came after four bodies recovered from Karachi’s Memon Goth area off the Superhighway a day earlier were identified as those of MQM activists.
Meanwhile, transporters said that they will keep their vehicles off the road, announcing to support Friday’s strike.
The private schools association has already announced to keep all schools shut in the Karachi. Examinations scheduled for Friday have also been postponed by Matric and Intermediate boards.
