KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has denied media reports that the party’s leader Altaf Hussain was arrested in London, and said that he is at his residence.
Earlier it was reported that the MQM leader Altaf Hussain was arrested on the charge of money laundering from his residence in North West by the counter terrorism squad.
In a press briefing in Karachi on Tuesday afternoon, the MQM Coordination Committee member Nadeem Nusrat said that Hussain had been ill for some time, adding that he was scheduled to be shifted to a hospital today when the police arrived at his residence.
The MQM coordination committee member advised all party members inside and outside Pakistan to control their emotions and not do anything that may go against the teachings of their leader.
Nadeem Nusrat insisted that Hussain was not under arrest but at home.
