KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to observe a country-wide strike on Friday against abduction and killing of the party workers.
Address a press conference at MQM’s headquarters Nine-Zero, the party’s Coordination Committee’s member Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that dead body of a missing worker was found dumped today, while eight more were still missing.
Siddiqui alleged that party workers were kidnapped and killed, and urged upon Chief Justice to take notice of the situation.
The MQM leaders said that Karachi’s situation is being created like that of Balochistan and the party workers are being kidnapped and killed.
Meanwhile, following the MQM’s ‘appeal’ for strike, the Sindh Traders Union and Private Schools Association have announced to keep businesses and private educational institutions shut in Sindh province.
Examinations under Federal Urdu University, scheduled for tomorrow, have also been postponed.
