MIRANSHAH: The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Chief Mullah Fazlullah has arrived in the restive tribal region of Pakistan from Afghanistan along with his 15 aides to preside over the meeting of Taliban Shura which is scheduled in few days, media reports said.
Earlier, reports came that Mullah Fazlullah had reached North Waziristan agency. However, the TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid “It is not true that Maulana Fazlullah is in Waziristan, he is in the tribal areas but at an unknown location.”
Mullah Fazlullah, also named as Radio Mullah, was appointed as the TTP chief on November 7 after a US drone strike had killed former TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud in North Waziristan agency bordering Afghanistan.
Following his appointment, the Taliban refused to hold talks with the Pakistani government because Fazlullah was against negotiations with the Pakistan government.
Mullah Fazlullah who is said to be involved in the high profile killing of Major Gen (retd) Sanaullah Khan Niazi took shelter in Afghanistan’s Kunar province in 2009 after the Pakistan military launched a massive operation in Swat to purge the valley of militants. Fazlullah was leader of the Taliban in Swat.
