KARACHI: Munir A. Malik, a prominent Pakistani lawyer, would be the country’s new attorney general, highly placed sources said on Wednesday, the notification in this regard will be issued in the next couple of days.
Malik, who is expected to assume office at some point next week, would replace currently attorney general Irfan Qadir who is facing contempt proceedings before the Supreme Court.
Munir A. Malik is the former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association and was a leading figure in the movement for the reinstatement of judges deposed by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
