MURREE, Pakistan: The incidents of bullying and molestation of tourists by hotel owners and agents mafia in Murree remain unabated, prompting the administration to deploy Dolphin Force and Tourist Protection Force in the mountainous resort.
Under the directives issued by the City administration, hotel agents and guides have been bound to wear uniform and asked to refrain stalking behind tourists and forcing them.
Separately, the Section 144 has also been enforced in Murree.
The initiatives followed a series of incidents of mistreatment by local agents and hotel owners with tourists who throng Murree especially in winter season to enjoy snowfall.
Earlier last night, a hotel manager named Asif was gunned down near GPO Chawk in Murree after he refused to allot a room to the killer Masab Khalil Abbasi.
Masab fled the scene after the firing; however, with the help of CCTV footage, police identified him and lodged a FIR against him.

Prior to it, a female tourist was subjected to mistreatment by a notorious agent mafia in Murree. Appallingly, the local police earlier refused to initiate an action, saying that the area doesn’t fall under its jurisdiction.
However a video of the victim woman went viral on social media and the people reacted outrageously; therefore, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had to intervene and take notice of the incident.
Subsequently, the police was forced to apprehend the culprits and registered a FIR against them.
In addition, the Police Station Incharge and Muharrar were also suspended in compliance with orders of the Chief Minister Punjab.
