ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad on Monday accepted the bail application of former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf in a case relating to the killing of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi in the 2007 military operation.

Wajid Ali, the additional district and sessions judge, granted Musharraf’s request for bail in the Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case and directed the former president to submit two surety bonds each worth rupees 100,000.

Musharraf, already under house arrest in other cases, was arrested on October 10, five weeks after Ghazi’s son Haroon Rasheed registered the murder charge against him with Aabpara police in Islamabad.
