ISLAMABAD: In order to express solidarity with the victims of Quetta tragedy, workers of Majlish-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) are continuing with their sit-in at Faizabad Interchange, causing difficulty for the commuters to reach their destination points in the city, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Tuesday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Islamabad Traffic Police Khalid Rashid, the protestors have blocked the Islamabad expressway at Faizabad interchange and traffic is being diverted to alternative routes to help the commuters reach Islamabad.
“The traffic is being diverted from Khana Bridge to Tarlahi and Chak Shahzad to enter the capital,” he said.
The SSP traffic police said that Islamabad Expressway is the main road that leads upto Faisal Mosque. Its closure definitely cause problems for the commuters but Islamabad traffic police still have tried its level best to manage the flow of traffic through alternative routes.
