ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: On the International White Cane Safety Day, the Speaker National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf and the Acting Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani acknowledged and appreciated the invaluable contributions of visually impaired people in the national development of Pakatan in a dignified and respectable manner despite challenges.

They remarked that the incumbent government and the Parliament are committed to provide them with equal opportunities so they can play an active role in educational, economic and social aspects of life like other citizens of the Country.

They urged the people to support blind and visually impaired people in every possible way and raise awareness about their issues.

“Let us build a better Pakistan by leaving no one behind,” they remarked.

On the occasion, the Acting Speaker also met with the visually impaired Social Media Assistant of National Assembly Muhammad Salman Siddiqui and appreciated him on earning a living with his head high.

Zahid Akram Durrani vowed to continue playing his role in resolution of problems faced by blind and visually impaired persons in Pakistan.
