ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered Rs3880.47 million and completed 869 inquiries since June 2013.
During the question hour in the Lower House of the Parliament on Wednesday, the Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Pervaiz Rasheed said that the NAB has been successful not only in bringing the culprits to book but also recovered billions of plundered money.
The minister said that the NAB also established prevention committees in order to develop doable recommendations for eradication of corruption.
Rasheed said that the authority is also engaged with different government and non-governmental organizations to fight against the menace.
In addition, he informed the House that a three pronged strategy of awareness, prevention and enforcement is being pursued to eradicate corruption from the country.
Earlier, the National Assembly resumed its session in Islamabad on Wednesday with the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
