ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly has been informed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered ill-gotten money worth around Rs 30 billion in the last one and half years.

In a written reply to a question asked by Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) lawmaker in the House Ms. Shahida Rehmani, the Minister for Law and Justice Muhammad Farogh Naseem apprised that an amount of Rs 30.336 billion has been recovered by the anti-corruption body during January 2018 to June 2019.

It is worth noting that the NAB Rawalpindi recently recovered Rs 2.12 billion through Plea Bargain in the Fake Accounts Case.

The anti-corruption watchdog recovered the moony from the accused Syed Asif Mahmood – the CEO M/S Technomen Kinetics (Pvt) Ltd, and Syed Arif Ali – the Director Nooriabad Power Company, involved in collusive bidding, exorbitant rates, corruption and corrupt practices in power generation projects of Sindh.

To another question by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Ms Maiza Hameed, Farogh Naseem told the House that the government has given an amount of Rs 197.7 million to the Bar Councils/ Associations during the year 2018-19.
