ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: An Accountability Court in Islamabad will announce the indictment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar on October 13 while Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz have been declared as proclaimed offenders.

Meanwhile while hearing the references on Monday, the Court accepted the bail plea of Captain (retd) Safdar and ordered his release.

It is worth mentioning here that a team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had taken Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar into custody at Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport when he along with his wife Maryam Nawaz reached Pakistan from London early Monday morning to appear before the accountability court in connection with references filed by NAB.

Later both Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar appeared the Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir amid tight security arrangements.

The Court provided the copies of the references to Maryam Nawaz, and ordered to release Captain (retd) Safdar on bail.

The Court also declared Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz as proclaimed offenders after they consistently failed to appear before the Court.

Nawaz Sharif’s Counsel Khawaja Haris sought an exemption for his Client from personal appearance before the Court, saying the former prime minister was in London due to the indisposition of his Spouse Kulsoom Nawaz. He also presented Medical Certificate of Kulsoom Nawaz before the court.

Later, the Court adjourned the hearing till October 13 when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar would be indicted.

Meanwhile talking to media, Maryam Nawaz said despite serious reservations, they were appearing before the Courts in respect of the rule of law.

Maryam Nawaz said it was revenge and not accountability. She said the entire world knew that it was not accountability. She said Pakistani laws could not be imposed on Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz.

In his remark, Captain (retd) Safdar said they would face Courts and come out victorious.
