The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) offers several services including the NADRA Smart ID Card – a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) with a Chip embedded in it.
The embedded Chip can be used for identity verification and biometrics to ensure that everyone has an accurate data record free from duplication.
This identity verification helps distribute pensions to their rightful holders, and participate in various social welfare programs and many other services.
Basically, the NIC is a blend of state-of-the-art technology and well-defined business rules to guarantee its authenticity and validity.
The unique 13-digit identification number is recognized all over the Country. It is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory to obtain documents like License, NTN, Bank Account, Passport, and Cellular Connection etc.
Every citizen of Pakistan with 18 years and above is eligible for NIC.
NADRA New Smart ID Card Fee September 2023
Currently, the NADRA is issuing the New Smart ID Card under three Categories. For normal delivery, it is charging Rs 750; however, if a citizen applies to receive on an urgent basis, he or she is charged Rs 1,500. Similarly, Rs 2,500 is being charged under the Executive Category.
